This one-day orientation tour is intended to provide sufficient local knowledge to help a prospective candidate decide on the proposed assignment:

  • Meeting with the candidate and needs analysis
  • Information session
  • Orientation tour, information kit and video

 Pre-Assignment Program

This three-day visit consists of a pre-move familiarization of assignee (and spouse).

  • Itinerary is drawn up based on the needs of assignee's checklist
  • Hotel reservation
  • Airport pick-up
  • Information session and needs analysis
  • Tour of different boroughs
  • Visit of selected properties
  • School visits if applicable
  • Visit with requested professionals: Legal accountants, doctors etc.
  • Visit of selected temporary accommodations
  • Information kit and video

 General Settling-In Program

(between 50-70 hours of services)

  • Welcoming on arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel
  • Temporary furnished accommodation assistance
  • General information session and needs analysis, budgeting and cost of living
  • Orientation and geography prospecting
  • Administrative formalities (banking, driver permit)
  • Housing assistance: search, visits, lease negotiations, counseling *
  • Visit to schools, enrollment, eligibility for English education, acceptance certificate student visas
  • Assistance with utilities: telephone, electricity, gas, cable TV
  • Social and cultural integration
     - Language schools
     - Customs clearing of personal belongings
     - Referrals to professionals and specialists
     - Shopping (grocery, appliances, furniture stores, etc.)
     - Networking into the community




* All brokerage transactions will be carried out by real estate brokers or by real estate agents members of the ACAIQ
